Selected Periodicals for Research on Violence in the USA
(can only be accessed from within the university computer system)

The starting point for your work should be the two encyclopedias on violence that we have in our library:

  • Ronald Gottesman, ed. Violence in America: An Encyclopedia. 3 vols. New York: Scribner, 1999.
  • Lester Kurtz, ed. Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace and Conflict. 3 vols. San Diego, Calif. [u.a.]: Academic Press, 1999.
  • Another important source for your preparation is: Ted Robert Gurr, ed. Violence in America.
2 vols. Newbury Park, Calif. [u.a.] : Sage Publ. 1994.
  • For your convenience, I have assembled a selection of relevant reading materials. They have been placed in a binder and are available in the library (course reserve) and in the copy shop near the Universitätsplatz.
